This news is very unfortunate. I was looking forward to the best of both worlds (UK2000 and FTX England). FSX stock airports, in my opinion, are downright ugly. In addition, I have a huge investment in UK2000. I'll have to think about this.

Well, I have a lot of UK 2000 airports myself. But from what i understand, the main issue is about the slight elevation difference.
About the airport surrounding textures, the futur will bring us solutions.
Once Gary Summons get Orbx England, he might update some textures on its next generation airports.
I think things will adjust bit by bit.
I hope so.

Don't see why should Gary update real world satellite imagery when its their Land Class (which is not an accurate imagery) that is causing issues. Unless Gary intends to let it blend with their land class but then what will happen to the buildings he puts in top of the land class, example, an office building might appear in top of a wooded area, etc.

Just because it is satellite imagery doesn't mean that the colors are true to what they are in reality. the office will not appear in top of a wooded area because the landclass will be above orbx. It beats that shocking flat vfr scenery!
