2 cm/pixel... and a Premiere

FSX. John Venema has announced this morning a new airfield project, Stewart CZST in British Columbia, Canada, not too far from Ketchikan (Orbx) and Prince George (Simaddons). A world premiere, it's going to design textures showing 2 cm details per pixel.

2cm/pix ground or building textures? If building, this is not a premiere. If ground, I wonder how many GBs (or TBs!) the whole scenery will have!

Fu*king hell!!! Now that is mouthwatering! This is WHY i have to upgrade to FSX! I personally probably wouldnt ever benefit from this scenery because i do alot of sim flying in Europe and the US with big airliners but still, what wonderful textures!

Looks like ground as well and I don't think it will be in the GBs, unless they are gonna cover a vast region surrounding the airport. The issue with sharp pixel is that not most average systems will render the exact image as orbx is promoting here. They can get away with sharpness on a very small scale airport such as this one, but applied the same sharpness on a medium and large airport will only drag down system resources.

excellent, too bad is a very small tiny airport. Can they do KSEA like this?

Amazing!, must applaud the efforts of ORBX for such high scenery rendering, realism is important to me in flight and this is a new start to ultra realism in flight sim. Requirements is not a issue of such seeing the rappid development in computer technology at lower cost.
