The New AirDailyX Goes Live!

[New Website Launch] A month late and a day early! Dear friends, dear loyal readers. Today I hereby present you with the new platform that will carry AirDailyX into the future. It has been a pleasure serving you all on this blog over the years and it's time for a positive change. I keep talking about how our developers continue to improve upon their crafts and it's time I did the same. I do hope you all will come with me and celebrate the future of ADX. It's in beta so please feel free to give me as much feedback as possible. I do hope you enjoy it and I look forward to more years together as we continue to enjoy this wonderful hobby of ours!

Yours Sincerely,

D'Andre Newman

The Countdown Begins!

As I finalize preparations for the new website launch on Saturday, I am doing some house cleaning on the blog here. Soon, this site will be known only as the "ADX Classic Archives" All the info posted here will remain forever and much of it is or has been imported to the new destination. But this place is no longer the "Insolent FS NewsBreaker". Sigh... bye bye... We are approaching an end of an era and approaching a new! Stay tuned for Saturdays announcement!
ADX>>Update: The new site will be online in the very early hours on Saturday for Eastern Europe. This means for those in North/South American regions, the new site will be online tonight or this afternoon for those in Australia! I'm very excited! It's been a lot of work!!

STOP! It's Phenom Time!

P3D. I have never liked FSX. So thank God for the guys at Lockheed Martin for delivering Prepar3D! Otherwise, i'd still be using FS9 exclusively which means AirDailyX would be pretty much dead given the fact that the majority of ADX followers are dedicated to products from the likes of Orbx, PMDG, Carneado, Majestic and the like. Carenado is fully committed to P3Dv2 and the Phenom just looks great under the shadows! The screens are still dark thus I imagine they will be all lit up in the next preview. Here are some interior shots to hold you over! Honestly, it looks damn good!

Orbx: The San Francisco Treat!

FSX/P3D. We'll got good news and bad news I suppose. The good news is, the upcoming Orbx NoCali will stretch far southwest enough to cover the Bay Area. The bad news? It mostly will not be compatible with US Cities San Francisco. I say this because Aerosoft's London is still not compatible with FTX EU and there doesn't seem to be any efforts on either side to get this to work. Many have, but only through a series headaches. Hopefully things will be different here without issues. But then again, after looking at FSDG's Thessaloniki's city scenery, would anyone want a city without night lighting? I'm glad to see Orbx in my back yard, let's hope many airports come with it as well!

Status Update From Manila!

FSX. Pacific Islands Simulations has provided an update on their mega Airport Manila and City! So far, T1, T2, and T3 are completed including many off airport buildings and hotels. As for the city of Metro Manila, it will come complete with 5/30cm pixel satellite photoreal terrain coverage which has also been completed. The developer is also developing some new eye candy such as volumetric grass and much more. I told you all to keep your eyes on Taxi2Gate. I told you all to keep your eyes on LHSimulations, I told you all your keep your eyes on ImagineSim, and I am telling you to keep your eyes on PacSim. This developer is on his way to the top! Here is the full development progress report!

LHSim LDRI Making Progress!

FS9/FSX/P3D. My very good friends over at LHSimulations are progressing on their next destination LDRI in Croatia! This is one of my very favorite developers and every thing they produce is of top quality! These are only the early renders but the modeling looks good! I'm looking forward to following their progress!

FranceVFR Autogen Global X Released!

FSX. Even though the CEO of FranceVFR doesn't seem to like me very much, it wont stop me from promoting his products. I hold no grudges. Now if you are anything like me and you use P3D, you have already discovered that every time you install a new scenery, autogen in other places tend to disappear. FranceVFR's Autogen Global X is a program that allows you to initialize your autogen definitions without having to reinstall your scenes. In addition it provides a single set of definitions compatible with the products of many publishers who can then be used together.  it's free so check it out!

VERO FS Washington/Oregon Released!

FSX/P3D. This is something I consider to be an alternative to Orbx' FTX PNW, VERO FS offers a similar coverage area but with autogen on top of photoreal terrain. At the similar price point, I would put my dollars on Orbx a thousand times over. But hey, people need options! Check it out!

REX Texture Direct SP1 Released!

[FS Utilities] The title above says it all. Here is what they fixed: 1.) Option and checkbox buttons not showing in Windows 7, basic or classic mode. 2.) Weather Engine checkbox not saving after close down. 3.) Temperature font cutting off on weather theme window. 4.) Removed single quote error when naming a theme. 5.) Menu bars being cut off with screen resolutions less than 1152 x 864. Get it now!

JustFlight Canberra Update!

FSX/P3D. The JustFlight Canberra is a beautiful aircraft and the development team has been doing an amazing job capturing the essence of this aircraft in FS. The good news? Customer deliveries are expected to commence next month which is great for me because i have been waiting almost a year for this baby! Here are the latest shots and stay tuned for more information from the team.

Look what I found??

FSX/P3D. I was just walking along minding my own business when suddenly I stumble upon a black envelope marked in bright bold letters: TOP SECRET! So I did what any sensible person would do. I opened it right away. Contained inside were several shots of what appears to be a F-4E in development. Now I wonder what developer would be behind this?? Could there be a new development company on the horizon? Hmmmmm.... Well, here are the top secret shots. Sorry, whomever the developer is, is up in the air at the moment. Clearly, judging by the early development renders, these were not meant to get out! But as ADX is Insolent.... We do what we want.
ADX>>Updated with interactive 3D VC!

I'm Taking Us All Out Someplace Nice!

FS9/FSX/P3D. ADX Exclusive! Every airplane has a destination. Where is this going? Would you like to be on board? Keep checking for updates!

Thai Creation Is Back!

FSX/P3D. I am personally a fan of Thai Creation. These guys have been very silent several months! They broke ground on Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo Sri Lanka back in July of 2013 and I am pleased to see how well it's shaping up. I highly recommend Thai Creation sceneries. If you haven't yet, check out review pages and then head over to Simmarket!

Alabeo C195 Getting Ready!

FSX/P3D. Like hot rods? How about hot rods with wings? Well here comes the best of both worlds! Alabeo is homing in on release of their upcoming legendary C795 Businessliner. Looks like this baby will be ready in a week! I'm guessing next Tuesday or Wednesday. I just can't wait to hear that seven-cylinder 300hp Jacobs R-755 engine fire up! It's gonna be nice. I think I will fly it off to Misha's Seiku first and wake the neighbors!

FlySimware Cessna 402C Released!

FSX/P3D. If it's one thing I really like to see is more developers getting out there and developing aircraft addons for flight simulator. Typically, we tend to see scenery developers outnumber aircraft developers 5 to 1. FlySimware has just released their Cessna 402C Businessliner and where it's no Carenado, it does look nice. But I must say, I am really struggling with that price tag. @ 26.38EUR. Ouch. You can pick it up at Simmarket.

Funny Screenshot Of The Day!

FSX/P3D. This is really funny. In all honestly, it's not funny at all and it's indeed sad. But nonetheless, it's still funny. Many of you by now are well aware of a current ongoing scam regarding an outfit calling themselves Genuine Simulations promising an A380 product that is 100% based on screenshots stolen from Next Level Simulations. A bit part of me is actually glad this happened as it inspired the developers to get back to work on the project which is a good thing for all of us. But the thing that really got me going this morning is the watermarking on their latest image. You just cant make this stuff up! Keep up the great work NLS! Full shot inside. Read closely.

A Note From The FSGlobal Team.

P3Dv2. Here is an update on from the FSGRW team regarding Prepar3D V2 compatibility: "We were working hard on it, but unfortunately had to enter a holding. This is due to the fact, that there still are some slight flaws in P3D V2.0 (and no, it is not just the known temperature bug). We are relaying with Lockheed Martin to get these fixed hopefully in the first patch (V2.1) which they will release soon. Until then and until we have tested and finetuned FSGRW to work with P3D V2.1 we have to hold and burn off some fuel ... As we are dependent on another party, we can not say, when this version will come out. If these bugs are fixed and nothing more shows up, it won't be long after Prepar3D V2.1 has been released."

AXE A319 VID!

FSX/P3D. The AXE team has uploaded a video displaying the new ECAM using CLR to scroll through  the ECAM and clearing the memo. The "SYS Page Called" function is not yet complete and there are other very obvious bugs (such as Fire button should be sping loaded and CLR button flashing) we are glad to have an update on this project!

Digital Aviation CRJ Update.

FSX/P3D. Well, it's not an update exactly. Mathijs has posted a few shots showing the CRJ earlier this week displaying the closeup details. Wow has this project been a long time coming. Literally years in the making. The FS community has been needing a proper CRJ for many years and the variant delivered by Wilco just didn't cut it. Release of the Aerosoft DA CRJ is expected sometime during Q1 of this year. Once it's out, any chance we will see a VC update for the Fokker? Guess time will tell.

Aerosoft MAP-DUB Update!

FSX/P3D/P3Dv2. Now in an advanced night lighting stage, the Aerosoft Mega Airport Dublin project appears be progressing quite well. With the EireSim version officially considered dead by my observation, I consider this contention concluded. The developer is indeed doing a terrific job on the project and it will surely give us all something to look forward to in the coming weeks. I hope it will be fully compatible with FTX IRL Have a look!

Drzewiecki Sheremetyevo T-F Update!

FSX/P3D. Aside from Italy, Russia is another large European country to be seriously neglected in FS. Luckily, thanks to Avsim.ru, there have been many high quality freeware Russian airports to choose from over the years and I use many of them. Couple those with the ones from Aerosoft and Drzewiecki's upcoming high quality Sheremetyevo and you have many destinations to choose from! Here is the latest of terminal F from Moscow Sheremetyevo from Drzewiecki Design!

MSE 2.0 Detroit Released!

FSX/P3D. The former giant city of the automotive world was Detroit... Even though the city is not as prosperous as it once was, the scenery still remains largely unchanged, and you can now fly over Detroit and the surrounding area in spectacular, high-resolution scenery with this Ultra-Res Cities series release. Ultra-Res Cities take MegaSceneryEarth realism to a whole new level with unprecedented native 50 cm resolution scenery for larger cities and Terminal Control Areas. This titles gives you the Terminal Area for Detroit, MI (shown by the chart link below) around 4,000 square miles of the all displayed at 50 cm per pixel. Get flying!

Bergamo Promo Video!

ES Doing Big things!

FSX/P3D. Earth Simulations is in progress on a new 30 cm color enhanced Professional Photographic Scenery for the entire United Kingdom. This one will be huge with high-res photo terrain and autogen to boot! I must say, this could give Orbx a run for the money. It's going to be very interesting comparing the two! Check out these shots! Thanks to Kevin Firth for the tip!

More Metro Incoming!

FSX/P3D. As we are busy in the process of putting our reviews together of the Razbam Metroliner, I am pleased to see that 2 more variants are still in production! the TP-88 is currently undergoing it's as you can see above and next on deck afterward will be RC-26B! Great toys in store this year! Check it out! Updated with the RC_26B shots!

Next Up From Milviz: MD530F!

FSX/P3D. Milviz created what is in my opinion the best looking helicopter ever developed for FS when they finally released their amazing Bell 407. And yes, the flight dynamics are as good as it gets. But the team hasn't stopped working. Today, the developer released their first renders of the Hughes MD530F and it's one of my favorites! I remember back in the 80's when my dad used to work for Hughes Aircraft. I was only a kid, but I remember getting to meet one of these babies up close and personal. I also kept hoping those loaded missile launchers wouldn't take my ass out... ahhh they just don't make them like this anymore... well... Milviz does!

Orbx FTX Northern CA Close To Final Beta!

 http://airdailyx.blogspot.com/2014/01/orbx-ftx-northern-ca-close-to-final-beta.html
FSX/P3D/P3Dv2. Orbx's NCA development team have been hard at work adding some final corrections to the long awaited FTX Northern California scenery package. According to Holger Sandmann, they are about to go into final Beta.

New Website Launch Saturday!

Howdie folks! A quick thanks to all of you tipping me off to the news. As a lone ranger, the daily news had to take a back seat the last few days while I compiled some reviews and put the finishing touches on the new website. The site will be in Beta stage for a few weeks starting Feb 1st to help ADX readers get acclimated with the new look and feel. This time period will also allow you to provide me with any feedback before I discontinue updates on the current blog. This blog will remain active permanently as it has a lot of good and useful information posted over the past 4 years. I am delayed on this launch by about a month as I initially hoped to go online Jan 1st. But it's better to get it right rather than rush things.  I put a lot of hard work into the new site over the past 4 months and I sincerely hope you all will enjoy it. Personally, I love it and the feedback so far from those testing it has been very positive. It is one helluva upgrade! Bear with me, I am very busy, but i'll get the news caught up shortly. Stay tuned! ADX is nearing it's next stage of evolution!

FSDG Thessaloniki X: Our impression!

P3D. Well here is a review that pretty much sucked up my entire weekend. Had it only been the airport, a few hours work as best and I'd be done. But an entire city? There was just no way all this would fit into a typical ADX FirstLook. FSDG has created a masterpiece so refined, I don't think there is a single person that has experienced this product that wouldn't put it on their top 10 all time favorite destinations. It is only the beginning of 2014 and already it is cemented as a top release of 2014. I'll even take it a step further and say it is a top 10 release of 2013, 2012, and 2011. A step even further and I'll say it is one of the top ten of the last 10 years. Thessaloniki is a very small airport and yet somehow, it's absolutely huge. It's gargantuan! "Hmm... I have always liked that word gargantuan. It's so rare I've had the opportunity to use it in a sentence." And as large scale sceneries go, so do my reviews. And this time, when I say Bandwidth Warning! I really mean it with over 200 digital simtography shots crammed in here! Let's go see what exactly FSDG has done and what makes Thessaloniki X a must have for every flight simulation enthusiast!

Genuine Simulations A380 "Released!"

[SCAM] I am getting a lot of readers either posting or messaging me on Facebook, via email, and even via SMS regarding this A380 product by an outfit called Genuine Simulations. Their site is claiming a soon to be released A380 product is an officially licensed product on behalf of Airbus. I have seen similar setups before and in my own personal opinion, in it's current state, it does not look legit. Their cover appears to be a very poorly Photoshoped aircraft image with the Airbus logo apparently removed from the fuselage superimposed on an artificial background. FS development teams do not typically promote themselves this way. We have also confirmed all images are of the NLS A380. They now claim the product is released for $89USD.
ADX Update>> Warn your friends! This is a scam! Do not purchase!

Alabeo Cessna Cutlass RG II First Look!

FSX/P3D. Commercial pilot wannabes, your trainer has arrived. Alabeo has rolled out another winner with their latest release of the Cessna 172 Cutlass RG II. If you are working on your virtual commercial license, or are looking to brush up on some basic IFR skills, this is your machine. Tag along with me as I explore the beautiful Orbx-enhanced land down under in Alabeo's floppy-footed professional pilot-maker.

Misha? What Are You Up To? 11S Sekiu!

FSX/P3D. I am now at the point where I would blindly buy anything Misha develops. His attention to detail and eyecandy is supreme in everything he does and he just keeps getting better! As for where his next destination? He is not telling and as much as I am dying to know where it is? I almost don't care. It's in the PNW, it's Misha, it already looks great, SOLD! What more info do you need? Oh yeah, need the airport code at some point to land there...

FlightBeam Denver. Oh Yeah!

FSX/P3D. Hailed as one of the most innovative developers in the business, FlightBeam has really made a staple among the community as a elite development team. The latest destination is Denver and it will arrive with all new never before seen technology. Mir always pushes the bar a bit higher with each release and DEN will surely impress but by all means, these screenshots don't need my words to accompany them.

Orbx Stralsund Barth! Really.. Free...

FSX/P3D. Did I understand this correct that Stralsund Barth would be freeware? Because after the latest preview shots, i'd say it is damn near on par with many Orbx destinations. The developer is doing a great job and release looks near, have a look!

JetStream Little Rock!

FS9/FSX/P3D. You remember JetStream Designs correct? Makers of that magnificent Mega Airport Marseilles scenery last year? The team is back to cover a region that has really been overlooked over the years and will provide a nice spot for sorties to the South and Midwest US. It's Little Rock Arkansas and it look great so far! have a look then go check out Marseilles!

Carenado Phenom Getting Ready!

FSX/P3D. Clear out your hangars folks! A new jet is on the way! I can hardly contain my excitement. I own the Wilco Phenom and whereas it's a beautiful looking model, the aircraft came with many issues that were never worked out. Thus, I have dumped it to make way for the Carenado and whereas a fully operational G1000 would be nice, I almost don't care if it isn't. I guess I am just that desperate to get a new biz jet. My guess? Release within the next 2 weeks! Welcome to the jet age Carenado! It looks really good! Damn.

CaptainSim L-1011 Base Pack Released!

FSX. Captain has just released their legendary Lockheed Martin L-1011 for FSX. It's really funny though isn't it? Should it be released for P3D? I didn't find anywhere on the product page if there is a P3D installer but hopefully it will work in P3D like their other products seem to do when you point the installer to P3D. It does look good. I think I am going to get one!

FSDG ThessalonikiX Released!

FSX/P3D. The boys at FSDG are on final approach to Thessaloniki X and the final beta and installers are nearing completion! These boys have done it again and are delivering yet another incredible Greek airport scenery with an entire city to go with it! I'll be making my first approach later today and will have the ADX FirstLook! ready to go shortly after release. For now, here are the latest previews to hold you over! And please don't drool. That's disgusting... but understandable. ADX FirstLook inbound!
ADX Update>>Released!

Alabeo Cutlass RG II Released!

FSX/P3D. It's basically a C172 with a retractable gear and it looks beautiful! I had already previously spoken about the apparent change is development strategies between Alabeo and Carenado and whereas it's a bit odd to see Alabeo developing the Cutlass RG II I imagine this will soon become the norm as Carenado continues it's pursuit to the large turboprop and bizjet market. At least I hope... Here is the latest on the Alabeo Cutlass!

Monday, January 20, 2014

MSK Sheikh Zayed Released!

FSX. This one got by me! MSK has released their Sheikh Zayed project over the weekend and is now ready for download. If you are looking for another quality destination in the Middle East, this is for you. Now for the bug challenge! Can? Will? This developer create the new Benazir Bhutto International Airport. I have seen the plans for the new terminal design and it is almost as amazing as the woman herself. For now pick up Sheikh Zayed Airport today!

PMDG-777 Update!

FSX. Rob Randazzo is back with his first status report of 2014 and according to his latest update, PMDG is  approximately 2 weeks away from beginning the final test phase of the SP1 update for the Trip7 200LR/F. This update is expected to be quite significant in terms of adding new functionality, updating/fixing errors in the initial release version and improving the overall product performance. Personally, my biggest concern at present is when will the P3D version arrive so I can finally have my fun! From what I now understand, it's okay to have fun in P3D now. See Rob's latest statement.

Choochoo TrainSim 2014!

FS9/FSX/P3D. Nope! It's Drzewiecki Designs Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport. The Polish development company is on a total roll this year and is expected to deliver at least 5 mega airports for 2014 which includes all NY area airports! Many big things from this team but today, we get a look at the trains. And no, you may not drive them!

29Palms/Orbx Next Scenery Is...

FSX/P3D. We love Lars and the amazing products delivered by 29Palms. Whether he is working with Aerosoft, LimeSim, FSDG, or Orbx, everything he attaches himself to comes out in stellar quality. Two of his scenery projects released last year (Skiathos/Southampton) rank on my personal top 15 list of all time favorite airports. He is at it again for his next Orbx development and I am sure Majestic Q400  and NGX pilots will be quite pleased! Here it comes!

Is It Monday? Time For Another NLS Update!

FSX. The sleeping giant is awake! NLS has really woken and has been storming out of the gate full speed on the A380 updates! A recent scam attempt regarding the NLS A380 brought the developers to attention and after expressing their anger and frustration regarding the scam, they have channeled their energy continuing development of a quality A380 product they promised over a year ago. The updates and been continuous and ADX readers could not be happier! Time for another animation video!

What Is Pissing Off Mathijs Kok?

[RANT] It's the age old issue. But what makes the issue even worse is when a virtual airline is directly involved. What's worse than that? When someone wins a product in a contest from a retailer and chooses to give it away via piracy. Yep, we're talking about piracy again and this time around, Mathijs Kok shares his own feelings on the subject plus addresses some of the culprits in his latest discovery. He is not pleased. A very interesting read indeed! Dickheads be warned!

Orbx Victa Airtourer Update!

FSX/P3D. With the third aircraft now in development for Orbx, could this famous scenery development company be in the process of cementing themselves in the aircraft development business? Many have been waiting quit e some time for an update on the Victa Airtourer and based on the weekend update, it actually looks close to release. Have a look!

New Orleans Gets Major Upgrade!

[Real World Aviation] Of all the places I have visited around the world, New Orleans is not one of them. But perhaps I will soon have a reason. After being torn apart by Hurricane Katrina several years ago, and being largely populated by people living below the US poverty line, this city has struggled to bounce back. I personally never had much interest in New Orleans but once the new airport opens in 4 years, i'll have my reason! This is truly a resilient city that does not give up. I look forward to seeing this architecture reach fruition in both real world and in FS. Stanislaw, you have my permission to get started!
ADX Update>>Airport is in development! Can't mention the developer yet but it is a developer that has delivered high quality scenery products to the community!
More information and exclusives soon!

Aerosoft Vaclav Update!

FSX/P3D/XPL. The last time I flew into this airport, it was called Ruzyne and it is a great airport! In fact, when I flew on CSA for the first time, it was during the very first week the airline took deliveries of their brand new A320's! Ahhh that new airplane smell! We'll hopefully we will be getting that new airport smell with the FS version of Praha this year. The developer has released another update. Check it out!

Aerosoft BergamoX Released!

FSX/P3D. Wait, this is an Aerosoft release? Wow! Very big deal. We had been following this project on FSDeveloper for several months and now it's hit the big leagues on release! Since the demise of ISD all those years ago (yes remember them?)  Italy has been the largest country in Europe to be neglected in flight simulation. However, with this being the fourth Italian airport release in the past year or so, I think things are looking up for the region. Hope more quality Italian airports come our way. Fly to Bergamo today!

Orbx FTX NA Blue SP7 Released!

FSX/P3D. Orbx has just released a quick update to FTX NA Blue which replaces the lights in the PNW region with their FTX Global style 3D lights which now allows you to enjoy the new performance saving lights technology in the region! Please note that due to FSX Shader bugs, these lights display as black boxes if you are using the DX10 preview mode in FSX. This is rectified using Steve Parson's 3rd party DX10 Fixer tool. This is a great update to my favorite FTX region. Now if we can just get those P3Dv2 installers cracking!

A380 Wingflex!

FSX/P3D. We know how much you folks love wingflex! NLS has just uploaded a preview of the wingflex and ailerons animation under turbulent conditions. The model is not done of course so there might be some stuff missing or inaccurate. Each of the 3 ailerons (per side) is simulated independently.
