CaptainSim L-1011 Base Pack Released!

FSX. Captain has just released their legendary Lockheed Martin L-1011 for FSX. It's really funny though isn't it? Should it be released for P3D? I didn't find anywhere on the product page if there is a P3D installer but hopefully it will work in P3D like their other products seem to do when you point the installer to P3D. It does look good. I think I am going to get one!

Looks great, as all CS models always do!

..but, history has unfortunately taught me that they also have a lot of...kinks...to be worked out after launch, and that CS has a habit of Launch now, fix maybe later.

I figure I'll probably pick this one up at the xmas sale. I've got JustFlights L-1011 to tide me over till then.

True comment. Until the 732 is finished, CS will not another penny from me.
The plane does look great though.

I too am dubious about buying her, but she looks sooooo damn good!

It does now say on the product page it's "PROLINE" and was orignally "FUNLINE" Has anyone brought it yet and can comment? Each time I vow neve to return to CS but I'm genuinely in two minds. Please please PLEASE CS........Fix the other jets before making anymore.

Such beautiful models....if only their systems were as realistic. Not to mention, give us a tutorial for Pete's sake. Cold and dark in the L1011 is a very....well....cold and dark place. Beautiful....but cold and dark nonetheless.

CS = Customer's Screwed!

Right well my first thoughts are........WOW! She flies like a real heavy beast and the performance is a lot better on the L-1011 than any of the other CS aircraft.

No INS but I never use them anyway so if that's a dealbreaker for you then that's up to you. On approach she's a handful and you have to monitor your speed! Don't get caught out.

I'm glad i got this bird and I am now a firm supporter- a true gem and a credit to the L-1011.

I already have the JustFlight version and I am happy with it. Ya, Ya, I know, it may not be as advanced as some of the others but then, I am not a real pilot and enjoy my simming the way I do it :)

I'm confused. Is CaptainSim paying customers to use one of their quarter-baked releases? If so, I might check it out.

it says in there manual, that you can use a third party INS that should intergrate with the CS L-1011

I have not bought it yet but just thought I would let you know

cheers

Will never touch a CS product after the 777 fiasco, no matter how good it is (or claims to be). I have been screwed over by them more than once with products that do not work and I for one will not fund this kind of behaviour

Agreed with John. CS are good in marketing but the depth of their products will never reach MS or PMDG...

Anyhow, yet again the screens look good, but... at least they could have made the INS from scratch. Pathetic...

LOL

Misc Features:
• FPS friendly

Since when creating lag, stutter-free addons became a feature ? If that's the case, CS should release an expansion pack for their 777 as CaptainSim 777 FPS-Eater-Free Upgrade Pack from 9.99 and i'll buy it instantly.

well, i am very disappointed. i bought the 707 and the 737.. since then, they still didnt manage to develop a working INS unit (i know from the problem, that the original civa developer does not cooperate). An external 2D version is NO option in my eyes. I dont want 2D panels in a nice cockpit like these. CS cockpits are always beautiful but then those INS panels... really a shame. I bought the external model a few months ago but i dont know if i will buy this one without INS. How am i supposed to fly over the atlantic ocean? Dead heading??
