The old days returning..

FSX, Oh man, I really wants this beauty. Vitus is making the old beauty Lockheed 10A Electra.
And it a real good model! This is one we should keep an eye on. Personal I think this model will be a super good addition to our virtual hangar.

SIM720 Catalina Airport Released!

FSX/P3D. Hmmm... Did I mention today was my birthday? And what a great present to get an airport near my home just released today! And the team has already sent me a copy. The SIM720 guys have just released Catalina airport today and I am very excited! Head over and get your copy now! Some very talented work here!

King Abdulaziz. Update!

FS9/FSX Saudi-Arabia is an forgotten country in the FS World. This is something that is going to change, Here are the first shots released by Mohammed of the King Abdulaziz International Airport. The scenery will be payware and as seen at the first shots, it's looking very good.

FlightBeam Denver! First shot!

FSX/P3D. FlightBeam Studios is a development company everyone has come to highly respect. What is really cool about Mir, if you have been following him closely, he presents never before seen technology and innovations with each new release. Denver will be no exception. Here is his latest statement on the project: "Gate B35, Denver Intl. FSX screenshot work-in-progress, a few things missing, such as gate numbers and ground lines. Everything you see inside the terminal is actually modeled, it's not a flat reflection. Currently KDEN is approximately 20-40% more detailed than KIAD on the gate-side, maintaining superior performance." Awesome news!

Just Flight DC-8 RELEASED!

FSX/P3D. The "Diesel-8" is a beast of a machine and one that I have flown all over the world........in fs9. I spent many happy hours smoking my freeware DC-8 along the airways and have been anticipating this plane with baited breath. It's a big manly plane built for manly men to do manly things with. So all you old iron fans get your respirators on, 'cause it's time to belch some heavy particulates into the air.

Taxi2Gate MCO update!

FSX/P3D. This project is looking better and better every day! Here are the latest screens from the Taxi2Gate guys! Even though the team ambushed me on my recent flight from Budapest to LAX diverting the flight to Mexico City, I love them nonetheless! And the following screens clearly show why. Check them out!

VirtualCol Ejets released!

FS9/FSX. Say what you will will about the quality. VirtualCol does indeed have a good market share in our hobby how ever niche as it may be. But the best thing about all of their products is the price! For less than $11 USD you can take one of these babies home!

Carenado B1900D New Exterior shots

FSX/P3D. Carenado has come up with new exterior shots of the Beechcraft B1900DI've never been a fan of this model, but oh, I've really became enthusiast. Carenado is creating a great model that I'm for sure going to enjoy experience. Many hours.

ADX FirstLook: LFLL Lyon Saint Exupery!

P3D. Finally, another lovely destination in France. This country has many great airports within it's borders but sadly, so few developers have stepped to the task of getting them into FS. This time however, an all new team known as JennaSoft has stepped to the plate to deliver Lyon Saint Exupery to us and they have done a decent job indeed! So grab your baguettes, it's time to explore JennaSoft's Lyon in this latest edition of ADX FirstLook!
V1.1 Update released!

Mega Airport Brussels update!

FSX/P3D. Here is the latest on the Aerosoft Brussles project!

Metroliner update.

FSX. The Razbam guys are still working on the systems as they progress through the beta. The team is also working on that matte look and are giving it some nice gloss.

JF DC8 update!

FSX. Here are the latest shots of the JustFlight DC-8 Jetliner. Video included!

A_A Kuala update.

FSX. Not a huge update but the following previews show the current stage of the project including the A380 gates. Have a look.

McPhat 747X World Airliners 5 released!

FSX. 6 HDT repaints for PMDG's one and only 'Queen of the Skies'. With a pixel per meter ratio of 171, these textures are not only four times as detailed as the repaints made by PMDG but also quite a bit more detailed than our MD-11 High Definition World Airliners. What better way to show you the quality difference than by showing you!

RJ SIM VFR Biggin Hill released!

FSX. VFR Biggin Hill is the most accurate and up-to-date rendition of the historical Biggin Hill airfield ever made for Microsoft Flight Simulator. During it's time as RAF Biggin Hill, it played a crucial role in the defence of the United Kingdom, notably in WWII's Battle of Britain. Now, Biggin Hill is a vibrant general aviation and business hub, just south east of the city of London.

SimBreeze Hurghada released!

FSX/P3D. Hurghada International Airport is located near the tourist resort of Hurghada on the Red Sea. Throughout the year the Charter brings visitors and tourists from Europe and the CIS countries in the resort. The former military base was connected to the airport for passenger traffic. The long with 4000m runway is also suitable for larger aircraft like B747 and A380. Come into the world of diving, relaxation and recreation. Experience the Red Sea to its unique flora and fauna.

UK2000 VFR Airfields Volume1 now on Simmarket.

FSX/P3D. UK2000 VFR Airfields Volume1 includes 78 airfields in the South of England and Wales. This geographical area is the same as the 'Gen-X' VFR photographic ground scenery released by Horizon simulation software. Although designed to fit in to 'Gen-X', users do NOT need this to use this product, how ever I would recommend it for the ultimate visual experience. This version 2 also blends in well with ORBX England.

Riga and it's future. Our thoughts...

[Editorial] Yes. This is a blog about flight simulation. And as with all other flight simulation news sites and blogs, we usually... ok we mostly... Fine. We stick to the world of flight simulation. However, this time I want to open your eyes to something I see. Something... I feel... Something, that if it came to fruition, would be truly the most beautiful work of art ever to grace the virtual world of our flight simulators. So what's got my panties all tied up in a bunch? Well, it's EVRA Starptautiskā lidosta Riga, and it's future. Come see what i'm fussing about.

Berlin Brandenburg International update.....not the real one.

FSX/P3D. A few more shots of the upcoming development by limeSim and 29palms. Check out the ramp and taxiway details...amazing. The Schönefeld renderings are looking good, too. The way it's looking, pilots will be able to familiarize themselves with the Brandenburg side using this scenery before the real one opens!

Update for the ADX fans.

Howdie all. I know news coverage is not as plentiful as usual. I am balancing my time between personal life, ADX, and the new ADX website. Thanks to Captain Hoffen for assisting me with keeping the show running. The good news is,

SIM720 Catalina release date announced!

SIM720 has given a release date for it's first U.S. based airport project and it's very soon. This upcoming Thursday in fact......so get your straw hats and flip flops out, because it's time for a little island relaxation - SoCal style. DX10 compatible to boot.

Next stop? Estonia!

FS9/FSX/P3D. Announced nearly a year ago by me, finally we get an update of Drzewiecki Design's Tallinn! This project came about after the Riga airport authority requested an absurd amount of money to survey the airport. As a result, that idea was scrapped in favor of Tallinn. Released was expected in December but the team is a bit behind schedule so you can expect release in 1qtr 2014. I'll update the billboard soon. For now, here are the first shots.

FTX Global Iceland Demo released!

FSX/P3D. The FTX Global Iceland demo is in the final stages of testing and we should see it soon. In fact by tomorrow night I hope to be in my Twin Otter looking for the bonus photoreal glacier thrown in for us. The demo will include FTX Global + openLC + FTXG VECTOR plus PILOT'S FS Global 2010 Mesh as well. The whole of Iceland for us to try it out. So if you don't have FTX Global yet or are wondering what FTXG VECTOR is all about, now is your chance to find out. For free!
Update: released!

Orbx upcoming YBTH Bathurst first screenshots!

FSX/P3D. For some reason I haven't been able to get enough of Australia the past few weeks, and I'm pretty sure our friends at Orbx are to blame. Soon, I will have another reason to keep FTX Central set on this region. YBTH Bathurst is now in production by Tim Harris and it looks fantastic! As a serious Motorsports enthusiast (go Kimi!), I'm familiar with Bathurst as the home of the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit. And rumor has it, this important facility may be modeled here. One can hope....

Orbx Canberra: Our impression!

FSX/P3D. G'day and welcome to the Capital of Australia for an AirDailyX review of Orbx FTX Canberra City Scape by Captain Hoffen. By now, most everyone is aware of Orbx and their upgrades to airports, regions, and even the world. If you are not familiar with this company, you really need to do yourself a favor and crawl out from under your rock and check them out. Download the free demos and see for yourself what the fuss is all about; you'll be glad you did. In any case, read on and find out what this scenery has to offer.

Gauge this!

FSX/P3D. Alabeo is back with another dose of R66 and these latest previews are certainly feeding my hunger to get this baby on my drive. This time it's the gauges and the next will be night lighting! This is the team's very first attempt at a spinner bird and the quality is already representing everything we have come to expect from the Alabeo/Carenado guys. I have really become a skilled helicopter pilot in FS. But something I never thought about real world pilots... well, see this:

The Metro Has People!

FSX/P3D. The latest shots from Razbam show a plane full of happy people. Which is strange, all of the many metro flights I've been on, nobody was that happy. Something about being crammed into the screaming terror tube for an hour or more had a tendency to drain the joy right out of most mortals. At least the pilots are sporting the appropriate scowl. I am seriously ready for this plane! I hope I enjoy it as much as these passengers seem to.

And back to Fair Oaks!

FSX/P3D. This time, Iain has his go at the upcoming Fair Oaks project from Orbx. I am excited to see airfields like this still in development in the region. I need more places to launch into from Shoreham, which is my favorite airfield in England. Fair Oaks is sure to be a hit but by all means, see for yourself!

KCDW Essex County preview!

FS9/FSX/P3D. We'll it's about time for some previews Stan! Checking everyday and walking away dejected from the Drzewiecki forums empty handed, today my efforts paid off. Least anyone think Drzewiecki Design is all about large and mega airports, you'd be wrong. This team got their start in pretty much the opposite way Orbx started. Orbx started out making larger airports and moved into the small airfield and aerodromes. Drzewiecki started out making the small aerodromes and then, over time, moved into the big leagues. Today, we once again get a look at the quality the team brings on a smaller scale. I think I will enjoy some very nice flights from Essex County to Nantucket once the iBlueYonder product is released. Have a look at these stunning shots!

Flight Sim 2013 Show a Roaring Success!

[FS Events] PressRelease: Show organizers JustFlight & Flight1 were delighted that Saturday's Flight Sim 2013 show was a great success - and our thanks to all of you who came along to the show for making it such an enjoyable day. Over 1700 people came to the show, which was busy all day, and Hangar 1 at the RAF Museum Cosford was the perfect setting.

Aerosoft Twotter 100: next round!

FSX/P3D. Yes it's the lower horsepower rated variant and it will need a bit more ground space to get airborne. But with that said, it just looks too good not to get one. It has something of a manly utility workhorse quality about it that just seems to say: "Let's fly baby." And fly we shall! Here's the latest.

Wilco TBM850 update!

FSX/P3D. Yes indeed this aircraft quite delayed and Wilco has updated the product page to reflect the delayed release is expected this month. To hold us over, they have released a preview video of the aircraft boasting many eyecandy features. Whereas the eyecandy is lovely, on a visual scale, it's nothing at all compared to the Carenado variant. With this said though, there are performance issues with the Carenado model and when you pair this with the limited functionality of the Garmin G1000 avionics unit, the Wilco model may have a fighting chance. But my last few purchases from Wilco have been horribly disappointing including their painful customer service. Needless to say, I am hopeful for their TBM850, but strongly guarded. Have a look!

JennaSoft Lyon released!

FSX/P3D. We have been releasing exclusives of this airport since July of 2012! That's a long time and finally, the exclusives are over. Now you can head over to Simmarket and discover Lyon Saint Exupery which is the very first release from the new French development company known as JennaSoft and it's lead developer: Olivier Badiambila. The files have been submitted for AES compatibility. Will there be an ADX FirstLook? You know it! Now at Simmarket! Go get it!

PMDG 777 Jerdoo style!

FSX. Another talaned video compiled by Jerdoo. This time he takes the PMDG 777 and puts it through it's paces with style. This is one of the best end user preview videos I have seen of the TripSeven so far. Check it out and if you wish to avoid the ads, all you need is Google Chrome and ad blocker. So no complaints on that please that horse is beaten. Enjoy!

FROG-X Le Castellet: Impressive!

FSX/P3D. The FROG-X team is at it again with their next project: LFMQ. This team just keeps getting better and better with each preview. This is a small independent development team that I am watching very closely. There are many exciting, challenging, and scenic destinations all over France and it's nice to see developers stepping up to the task. Have a look at these shots!

FTX Global Vector approaching beta!

FSX/P3D. According to John Venema, the team is not far from FTX Global VECTOR entering it's beta testing stage. The latest shots depict before and after comparisons in the Asia Pacific regions. The improvements VECTOR adds to the FTXGlobal product is obvious even without the openLC layer included, which will vastly improve the results further. See for yourself!

Impressive details at Oslo!

FSX/P3D. It's always obvious. Whenever a developer moves on to the night lighting stage, beta is getting close. Not sure if release will make it before the end of Oct. But it deffo looks like a November release for sure. It's amazing just how far along developers have come and in this year alone we have seen very impressive strides in FS quality and technology. FlightBeam's Dulles comes to mind. Good stuff indeed!

Airline2Sim teaser vid.

[FS Utilities] We have seen that impressive A2S intro trailer video but just how will the actual training lessons look like? How will it sound? We'll to give you an idea of the quality behind the logo, the A2S guys have produced a short vid displaying one of the smaller features of the Q400 that many either ignore or never notice. It seems, even the smallest things have big purposes. What am I talking about? We'll you just have to watch.

Croatia making a comeback!

FSX/P3D. First LHSim with Rijeka and now Aerosoft with an internal development of Split! As I stated before, I was a big fan of the payware Croatian airports in FS9 and i'm excited to see them start to make their return to FSX/P3D. My top of the list airport for the region is Dubrovnik. Let's hope someone get's that kicked off! The approach is much fun! Here are the first shots from Aerosoft.

Buongiorno it's Bergamo!

FSX. Here comes another nice little independent project I came across on FSD back in August. It's looking quite nice so far with the recent update. I really respect the efforts from the independent developers these days. They are filling a very important niche and delivering their produtcts on a greater level of quality than ever before. Besides, we really need more airports in Italy! I'll keep up with the progress! The scenery will be payware.

I really do not like X-Plane. However,

XPL. I'll explain. There is just something about X-Plane that looks off to me. I can't really explain it but the bottom line is, in my opinion, the graphics and UI is nothing in comparison to FSX and P3D. I'll even go a step further and say, FS9 looks much, much better in my eyes. I love the visual features and appearances of Carenado and Alabeo aircraft, but in XPL, they just look... weak. They loose all the luster and beauty they carry in FSX and P3D. To date, (and whereas I have come across many X-Plane native aircraft I desire) the visual models are all visibly inferior in comparison to the more popular platforms FSX and P3D. Even sceneries ported over to XPL from FSX look horribly downgraded and I dare say: I have never come across a product in XPL that was worth a second look. We'll... until now...

ADX FirstLook: MilViz 737 Classic!

P3D. The MilViz 737 is finally here! I have been spending the entire afternoon with this bird and I must say that Military Visualizations have done an outstanding job! This gem was well worth the wait! Great exterior visuals, impressive interior visuals, and a fully operational flight-deck. I had so much fun in fact, I snapped nearly 80 shots in this post just to show you all just how damn good it looks and handles! So come along with me as we fly from Annecy to Friedrichshafen with FTXGlobal as the foundation! Let's go!
Attention: Service pack (1.1) has been released! To get it, you must log into your account on the MilViz support forum.

MSE 2.0 Belgium released!

FSX/P3D. MegaSceneryEarth continues its expansion into Europe with the first 50cm/pixel source photoreal package released covering the whole of Belgium. Fly the entire country of Belgium in spectacular photo-real detail - border to border. This is the first time the complete country of Belgium has been created in photoreal detail throughout. Belgium gives you over 11,787 square miles (30,258 square kilometers) of scenery to soar and explore as you make your way into and out of 63 airports. You get the entire country - border to border coverage of historical cities and rich green pastures and meadows and farmland. Check it out!

Godzone NZPP upgraded!

FSX/P3D. The sad thing is, there are too many flight sim fans out there that are completely unaware of Godzone sceneries. For those who are aware, you might be thinking now that Orbx has mostly abandoned New Zealand, this is better for Godzone. You would be wrong. In a since, you could say that Godzone was more or less counting on Orbx to make the New Zealand regions more popular with all their various developers and skills. NZL is one of the most beautiful places in the world to fly over and it's completely untouched my many. For those of us who do find New Zealand and Godzone products fascinating, here is another update! OMG BOB IS DEAD?

1M Pixel Swiss région in development.

FSX/P3D. Here is a really talented and detailed Swiss project I came across recently. Now the upcoming AUSTRIA Professional HD project looks very promising albeit it will not come with seasonal textures which I personally consider to be only half a product. I am not sure if this 1M pixel photoreal project will have different textures or not but it's damn impressive to say the least. Ultimately, my overall preference is to have Orbx FTX cover the entire Alps region. But if they do, it will be a long ways away. So for now, I will continue to watch this independent developer project with extreme interest. See for yourself!

UK2000 Heathrow still on course for 2013.

FS9/FSX/P3D. According to Gary Summons he has had to balance his time between other projects such as his UK VFR Airfields Version 2 series. As a result, his progress on Heathrow is not as far along as had hoped for by this point. However, current progress has seen the completion of all of the base images and ground polygons such as lines, holds, signs, bay markings, and stand id's. He also stated that T5 in version 2 was not accurate due to a lack of photos. As a result, all T5 Buildings have been completely remade and altered to fit the new base image. The same applies to all the stands at T5, as the V2 stands were in the wrong place. "V3 now matches reality." He has reminded that he is still hoping to get it finished by the end of this year. I'll be watching and waiting eagerly! Best of luck there Gary.

JetStream Marseilles FS9 released!

FS9. The FS9 version of JetStream Designs Marseilles project is now available via Simmarket. This is one of those new developers on the scene where I advise ADX readers: "Keep your eye on this team." Every time I make that statement, I am never wrong. I said it about Taxi2Gate over a year ago and now look? JetStream has 2 projects in development for 2014 and it's nice that Thomas is keeping FS9 in mind. I'll provide some shots later today. For now, go get it and read my P3D FirstLook HERE!

Sahara Desert Fly-In Preview 2!

FSX/P3D. Now you can without a doubt use this scenery to replace the default Sahara Desert textures and have something much nicer to fly over. But this product is intended for you to have fun with some very interesting and challenging missions. Either way, I think this product will sell well for both groups. Have a look at the latest shots of Aerosoft's: Shara Desert Fly-In in development by Franz Lufthart!

1900D Interior shots!

FSX/P3D. Between the Carenado 1900D and Razbam Metroliner, it's quite possible these are the last 2 big prop aircraft we will see this year. It looks like the externals are mostly complete with the first interior shots now displayed. Looking forward to the systems! It's amazing how many aircraft Carenado has released this year. 7 to be exact once the 1900D is released. That's on average, 1 plane every 2 months! Can't wait to see all they come up with in 2014 besides the Phenom. Enjoy these latest shots!

Which chocolate do you prefer?

FSX/P3D. Swiss? or Belgium? Heck, why not both? MSE2.0 is just days away from their next release: Belgium! Get ready to fly the entire Belgian countryside in high resolution photoreal detail! There are just a few sneek peak shots, release is imminent! Don't forget to catch our review of MSE 2.0 Switzerland HERE!

Virtavia B-29 Superfortress released!

FSX/P3D. Want to know what it was like to fly the legendary B-29 Superfortress? Now you have the chance with this latest rendition from Virtavia! For all those interested in WWII heavy bombers, be sure to add this one to your virtual aircraft collection. I plan to park mine in the same hangar as my MilViz Stuka! ADX FirstLook to follow!

Devinci 717 released!

FSX. Devinci Design has released their freeware project for FSX. Of all the commercial aircraft made for FS over the years, the 717 is the one that just keeps getting overlooked time and again. Boeing should have never stopped it's development but given the market after 9/11 I can't blame them for doing so. Now, the last C-17 has rolled off the line in Long Beach and as such, development of MD aircraft is officially dead. Let's hope FS can keep things alive...
