Canberra CityScape released!

FSX/P3D. Maurizio Giorgi has finally released his Cityscape Canberra project. The scenery features about 180 square miles of 60cm photoreal completely annotated with the largest variety of trees and buildings. A project that has taken over 3 years, Maurizio Giorgi has been meticulous, annotating it tree by tree, building by building. The major POIs of the city have also been fully custom modeled, to add authenticity. It doesn't really get much better than this in terms of quality and accuracy. Get your copy now!

iBlueYonder announces...

FSX/P3D. That's right! Nantucket! And it won't even cost you $100 dollars to fill the tank... we'll sadly, it also won't come with a burger. What it will have however, is Bill Womack's signature quality and style! So if you are a fan of Cushman Meadows, Siltz Bay, and Plum Island, you will feel right at home on Nantucket! Here is the very first render published today! I am following iBlueYonder with great interest!

Godzone update! Sort of...

FSX. Albeit not a very recent update. As it turns out, I am a bit late on this one. Sometimes I forget about our friends at Godzone as it's so seldom they release an update. And as you all know, news has really been nil the last couple weeks and I have mostly refrained from creating "filler" posts. So it's times like this when I am reminded to check all the little guys too! Here is the latest update on Wellington from earlier this month.

ADX FirstLook: Richer Grenada!

P3D. The development community is certainly keeping me very busy. After all, there aren't any other sites out there that are providing articles like this so quickly after release and I know many of you have come to depend on it. So, I got the next flight out of Taxi2Gate's Mexico City direct to Maurice Bishop International Airport on the island of Grenada. So the question remains: is it good? We'll it's not bad. There were some areas that I felt were done quite well and others needing serious improvement. Thus I will say this, the developer has serious potential and as long as he makes a concerted effort to better his skill with each release, Richer Simulations will quickly become a household name. So let's check out Richer Grenada in this latest edition of ADX FirstLook!

Freeware Airports NA Pack 2 released!

FSX/P3D. Orbx has just released the next round of free addons in their FTX Global Freeware Airports NA Pack 2. This time, the range expands far outside of California including such airfields as: W48, Essex Skypark Airport in Baltimore, T94, Twin-Oaks Airport in San Antonio, and KTEX, Telluride Regional all available for free! Head over to Orbx and get the package now!

Nemeth is back!

FSX/P3D. Choppers, choppers! Some really great helicopter addons are on the horizon with Alabeo's R22 turbine, MilViz' / ERS Bell 407, COdE with their own EC130 & multiple variants of the AS350, and now Nemeth announcing their EC130 in development. Usually it's all the fixed winged birds that get most of the love, but as a helicopter armchair pilot myself, it's very nice to see some quality choppers on the horizon! Besides, when the name Nemeth is present, it's bound to be good.

COdE Simulations update!

FSX. We first broke news on this team and project back in March of this year. Finally, an updated look at the COdE  heli projects in development. So far the texturing work on the famous birds are looking very impressive. The COdE AS350 B2 will come in different variations and have many features. As we continue to bring you updates, we will also unveil more about the development team. Wow lots of toys coming this year! For now, enjoy these shots and much thanks to Navin! Looking mighty impressive!

RealAir Duke B60 V2 released!

FSX. As promised, RealAir has released the awaited update of their piston Duke B60 on time. The update includes a slew of features, there is no point in paraphrasing them in the opening paragraph here so go ahead and click for the full feature list. It does indeed look good! But I always wondered why such a good aircraft like this doesn't com equipped with modern EFIS avionics. Just imagine a G1000 in this bad boy. That would get my out of bed VERY early in the morning! Here's the full list and link:

NY airports are a step closer!

FS9/FSX/P3D. As we all know, the NY project by Drzewiecki Design doesn't just stop at the city. Several airports in the tri-state area are also being included as a separate package including high quality renditions of JFK, LGA, and EWR. According to Stan: "all buildings of all airports are completed. We are doing the ground work now." This means this huge project just took another step closer to completion and once completed, will have plenty to offer to 777 and 172 fans alike including all 3 platforms! Here are some past shots of the project.

Iris Pilatus PC-9/A. I'll take one please!

FSX. Iris Simulations should be nearing release or at least beta on their Jabiru project. And it seems the next project afterward is the already in development Pilatus PC-9/A. No other developer makes a better Pilatus or has more experience developing Pilatus aircraft than Iris. This is sure to be a top quality product! But the Pilatus I would really like to see is without a doubt the PC-12!

Twotter ski in development!

FSX/P3D. Twin Otter Home Cockpit has shown off just 1 sneak of the Twotter Ski variant. This is by far my most favorite of all the Twin Otters. Why? Because there is just nothing like seeing a random snowy mountain slope and trying to make a go at it. Always a challenge! But wait! Where is the amphibian already?
Updated with VC shot!

Richer Grenada released!

FSX. Richer Simulations has just released their Grenada project the Spice Isle, and its main port of entry, Maurice Bishop International Airport. Fly across from Europe, North America or South America via any one of the major airlines which utilize its 8966 foot runway, one of the longest in the Eastern Caribbean. You could also cruise, low and slow, from the Grenadines by FlyTampa, Tobago by LatinVFR, and TVSV & TLPC by Taxi2Gate! Get your copy now on Simmarket.

ADX FirstLook: Taxi2Gate Mexico City!

P3D. Realizing I had no choice, I finished the bottle of Corona beer and buckled my safety belt. The flight attendant had finally returned and asked the two idiots who had just ambushed me by way of bribing the pilots to return to their seats. As we began to descend into Mexico City, I started to see the outskirts of the city come into view. There must have been thousands of buildings down there. I just could not believe how many hand placed autogen buildings filled my field of view and the further we pushed into the city the more the buildings appeared stretching for miles in every direction. Could this be the biggest scenery ever created for FS? Come with me as we explore Taxi2Gate Mexico city in this latest edition of ADX Firstlook! Bandwidth Warning! Over 70 shots inside!

Duke V2.0 exclusive shots!

FSX/P3D. RealAir is closing in on release for the Duke B60 V.2 and my good friend Jerome has gladly provided some exclusive shots from the beta. The V2 visual improvements over the current version are very clear and provide some very good looking interiors. I also like the various interior+livery options. Still not happy the turbine isn't included in the update but the quality is very good nonetheless. release imminent!

Alabeo is now working on...

FSX/P3D. Up next from this amazing and talented team is the R66 Trubine which should be released very soon. But after that will be the Piper Sport. Personally, I just can not say WANT enough! This team has been producing some amazing releases this year and it's always an excitement when the team announces another project. I imagine this one will be out before Christmas. I'll update the billboard soon. For now though, here are some early development renders for you!

FS2Crew Button Control released!

[FS Utilities] For those of you who held off on purchasing the FS2Crew Aerosoft Airbus X Voice Control weather you don't like talking to your computer, you don't meet the English - US requirement for Voice Control, or maybe English is not your first language and you don't feel comfortable speaking English. The team has just released the new Button Control version of FS2Crew which allows you to interact with your virtual flight, cabin and ground using joystick or keyboard button presses. Now available!

Piracy: An AirDailyX Reader Rant!

[Reader Rant] Following a post I wrote earlier this week regarding BlackBox and FS software piracy , I was shocked to find myself having to moderate readers who felt it was okay to pirate the software based on the notion that said products were either not properly supported or below their expectations on a quality scale. I am not an advocate of actions likem these and I did think back to an article submitted by ADX reader Mark Smith a few months back and decided to re-post for those who missed it. Do you have a rant or thought you would like to share? Submit it to airdailyx@gmail.com!

The ADX MiniReviews page is now available!

ADX. Blogger is obviously not the best resource for a resource like AirDailyX. I do still have future plans for a website but for now, I am doing a bit of house cleaning. I have been searching the 4,000 plus articles on ADX looking for all the mini reviews and first look's we have conducted over the past years and have consolidated the majority of them all in one place. It's amazing to see all these articles knowing that all of them were compiled and published within 24 to 48 hours after their corresponding products were released. That is a service you just won't find anywhere else! So check out the new MiniReviews tab and catch up on some reading!

RealAir Duke B60 2.0 update!

FSX. Alright so you want the good news or the bad news first? The good news? Okay. We'll as you remember, I announced a week or so back that RealAir was indeed working on a V2 update to their highly popular Duke series aircraft. Today we have another update that includes some new and exciting liveries. As for what the updated features list will entail, no clue yet. The bad news? It seems they are only updating the piston variant. I think many of us are flying the turbine correct? I'm looking forward to that features list. Release is expected before the end of the month and thanks to Jerome for the tipoff!

Carenado EX: Last shots!

FSX/P3D. It's almost here folks! I have a real world Alaskan bush pilot on stand by who is currently preparing a very nice review of his real world flying adventures versus his experiences in Orbx SAK and what better aircraft to show off than the upcoming Caravan EX from Carenado. Stay tuned for that review soon! Should be a very interesting read complete with real world comparison photos.

QW Back with an update!

FS9/FSX/P3D. The QualityWings are finally on the latter end of the BAE406 development and are currently preparing the tutorial flight for the BAE146 which is usually one of the last things before release. They are also promising an update on the 787 project after the 146 is released.

A_A back with an update.

FS9/FSX/P3D. Day before yesterday it was shadows. Today it's ground textures. This project is coming along rather well. I wonder if those tracks will have animated trams. Here are the latest shots.

MSE Switzerland incoming!

FSX/P3D. The series famous for it's high quality coverage of the United States has skipped across the pond to Europe where it's first country of coverage. Expected to be released next week is MegaSceneryEarth 2.0 Switzerland. Covering the full country, this package will feature high-resolution 50cm/pixel photoscenery for the 15,940 Square Miles of Switzerland! MegaSceneryEarth 2.0 Switzerland will be offered as a download product, utilizing the super-fast MSE servers for rapid product delivery, or with the option of backup DVD mailed to you for a small additional cost.

Southampton video!

FSX/P3D. Resident videographer Jerdoo is at it again with yet another talented cinema preview. This time, he showcases Orbx England's latest masterpiece: Southampton. This is the destination that has many Q400 fans reeling! I myself have had my share of Avro approaches and departures here as well. Another good video. Enjoy!

Metroliner getting close!

FSX/P3D. Here are the latest development shots of the Razbam Metroliner now in beta. If you were one of those who prepaid for the product, you should be getting beta copy yourselves very shortly. For the rest of us, release is expected in October and likely just in time for the 3rd anniversary of AirDailyX! Good things ahead!

Narita is getting ready. Are you?

FSX/P3D. The WingCreaton team is now on the home stretch. According to the developer, the final tests will be conducted this week. If all goes well, I imagine we could be seeing release within the coming week. Good news for Narita fans! Here are the latest shots.

Vidan Bornholm back...

FSX/P3D...Under the knife that is. The developer Vidan Design had released a very detailed upgrade to his Bornholm X project last year and the scenery is getting yet another jump kick with completely new higher resolution ground textures. Vidan is a very talented developer and I will be keeping up with his progress.

LHSim Budapest. An ADX Novel!

P3D. Have you ever wondered what it might be like to live in the world of our flight simulation environments? A world where anyone can be a professional pilot? A world where you could walk up to any airport or airfield, pick a plane whether it be a Cessna 172 or Boeing 747. A world where you could fly for any airline or create one for yourself? Well, I recently visited this world and while I was there, I came accross some very familiar people. I am now inviting you along for the journey to see just what it's like to be behind the scenes of AirDailyX and there is no better scenery than the recently released Budapest by LHSimulatons. Now whereas this is my review of the scenery, it is completely surrounded by the fictional world I just spoke of. No one in the history of flight simulation has ever done anything like this to my knowledge and as such, it's my longest and most detailed review I have ever written. So come along for the journey. After all, it's a story. Light the fireplace, pour some cocoa, and que the bandwidth warning. Dubai was popsicles compared to this. Bandwidth Warning!

Orbx England VFR airports! Only £8.88!

FSX/P3D. Effective immediately all Orbx England VFR airports (excluding EGHI Southampton) have been reduced to AU$14.95, or £8.88 at today's exchange rate. So for the cost of a pint and a bag of crisps you'll be able to grab one of these classic beautifully crafted airfields as they begin our expansion into Northern England and Scotland airports, with Cambridge and Sumburgh in production now. Now there's no excuse to delay in completing your UK airports collection!

A_A shadow work...

FS9/FSX/P3D. A_A Sceneries is back with another update on the upcoming Kuala Lumpur scenery. One effect he is working with is the volume shadow technique that clearly shows the shadows of the light poles falling on the terminal. According to the developer though, unfortunately, the penalty of this is tremendous and as such will not be implemented in the final work. I respect the effort of exploring with new techniques.

C208 Grand Caravan EX getting ready!

FSX/P3D. The luxurious Carenado C208 GRAND CARAVAN EX is now on the home stretch. You would think these guys would release by the weekend but I imagine release will come sometime around Monday or Tuesday. Either way it looks good to me! Here is the latest.

Project Airbus A330/40 update!

FS9/FSX/P3D. With all the attention over the BlackBox and upcoming Aerosoft A330's, I keep forgetting about Project Airbus. They have been working on an A330/40 project for quite some time and we have the most recent shots inside. The update was from a weeks ago FYI in case other news sites suddenly start publishing news on it. This project flew under our radar and every now and then I think: "oh yeah, PAirbus!" They were working on a VC for their A320 series but they quit that I suppose... But here is a preview of the A340 and it looks good so far! I also published the previews of their A330 earlier this year. Full VC will also be included.

OpenLC+Vector. Now we're cooking!

FSX/P3D. John Venema has released another update regarding FTXGlobal OpenLC and Vector. This is the product I am waiting for. The mountains, hills, and coastlines in FTXGlobal just doesn't cut it. Not by a long shot. With the addition of OpenLC and Vector, you will finally experience FTXGlobal the way it was meant to be. Also to provide the most simple mesh solution possible, PILOT'S will soon be releasing  a "FTX Edition" of FSGlobal 2010 via The FlightSim Store. Watch for this announcement on the PILOT'S website soon! Mesh Iceland Demo also included. Here is the latest!

Brandenburg back with a preview!

FSX/P3D. The joint LimeSim/29Palms Berlin Brandenburg project is moving with haste without any apparent lack of quality. Unless someone corrects me, this is the very first time we will likely see an entire airport rendered in FS before it's real world counterpart reaches completion. This, although minor, will be yet another slap in the face of the contractors developing the airport. And although major, will be another kudos to Lars, Sasa, and the gang! Expected first half of Q1 2014, check out the latest renders!

BlackBox: Stop stealing!

FSX. In a statement from BlackBox Simulations today, the developer has brought to attention that they have recently lost almost 5000 Euro in Pirated Downloads. Many of you might remember the demise of PSS which was closed several years ago due to piracy. BlackBox, is basically the restart of PSS and has noted that this activity is not going to be beneficial for BBS or for their Future. I would hate to see another developer exit this market. See the link to the full statement here.

Aerosoft A320/A321 V1.15 released!

FSX/P3D. Aerosoft has released another major update for the Airbus Extended. This update is a completely new build and addresses several issues and fixes. Head over to Aerosoft and get the update and kudos to the development team for the superb support and fantastic product! Thanks to FriĂ°berg Leifs Jensson for the tipoff!

ASDG update!

FSX. African Scenery Design Group has released another update on their upcoming Johannesburg X. This team is doing a tremendous job so far and the modeling and texturing work is superb. But don't take my word for it. Here are the latest shots!

CLS still on the BizJet..

FSX. These guys have been very quiet these days. Still no word on the 747 update that has been under development a very usually long development period. In the mean time, the team is still working on texture updates for the BizJet. Hope they correct that horrible FDE while they are at it...

Virtavia B-29A imminent.

FSX/P3D. Given just how advanced all modern warcraft are these days, the most devastating in all of human history remains the B-29A Superfortress known as the first aircraft ever to release an atomic bomb on an active population. Enola Gay Tibbets, the mother of the pilot, I can imagine was not too proud to learn that her name would go down in history in such a fashion. But it's all history now and I am sure many of you will put it to much better use. Virtivia is on the finishing stages and release is imminent. Thanks to Adi for the tipoff. Hey, did anyone know that the Enola Gay's pilot was also at one time the president of what we now know as NetJets? His grandson also flew the B-2. Huh. The more you know...

StreetFighter EX plus Alpha!

FSX/P3D. Anyone remember that one? We'll in this case it would be Carenado Grand Caravan EX plus Garmin. But let's face it, it's not the Garmin you are looking for. So before I say look at these sweet latest shots, I am going to say, let's not beat the horse. This is not for people looking for advanced systems. Now, look at these sweet latest shots!

GSX 1.8 update released!

FSX/P3D. GSX is without a doubt a quality alternative to Aerosoft's AES albeit the issue of not getting animated jetbridges in non FSDT airports. FSDT has just released GSX 1.8, which adds 2 new types of FMC Commander aircraft loaders. These being both the universal lower deck and main deck loaders. Check it out.

A few mo from Oslo!

FSX/P3D. Forgive my lame attempt at rhyming. joerlend is showing off a few more shots of his upcoming Oslo rework currently in progress. Once completed, it's surely to stand up well among FSDT, FlightBeam, and LHSim, etc in terms of quality. I am personally really looking forward to this one. Good quality indeed. Although I will admit, I hope the performance is as good as it looks.

ADX FirstLook: Orbx Bozeman!

FSX/P3D. Sheer realism. You don't have to go anywhere. Those are the 2 first thoughts that came to mind when I first explored all Bozeman has to offer. Sure you can blast off in your NGX at 250KIAS and not look back. But if you did, you would not be giving this scenery the time and attention it truly deserves. Jarrad has really pulled out all the stops with this product and has delivered a truly realistic atmosphere. So realistic in fact, just flying around the Bridger Mountains and valley is a trip in itself. You don't really have to go anywhere. So come nowhere with me as we explore Bozeman in this latest edition of ADX Firstlook!

WC Narita update!

FSX. Not much news the past few days. I imagine many developers are cranking away at their projects. WingCreation has been posting regular updates on their Narita project and here are the latest from this project. Thanks to Tobias for the tipoff.

Russ the gardener... growing digital plants and stuff...

FSX/P3D. PAEN Kenai. It's Russ White's next destination in the SAK. But that is not the destination in the shot you see above. After his highly successful Elstree release, Russ has continued to spend his time over in the little yet densely vegetated afield of EGML Damyns Hall just outside London. This project is the beginning of a new Orbx budget airport series and also new vegetation/grass technology which will be implemented into it. So heavy on the foliage and easy on your wallet. Good and very good!

North American Airstrips 40% off!

FSX/P3D. MCA Designs North American Airstrips Volume 1 is now 40%off for a limited time! The scenery offers a great value for money and is packed with quality scenery features, utilising some of the latest flight simulation scenery design techniques. Steve's DX10 SceneryFixer released!

[FS Utilities] Steven Parson has finally released his long awaited DX10 Scenery Fixer for FSX. The aim of the product is to resolve the issues that cause some add on scenery to appear grey in Microsoft Flight Simulator X DX10 Preview mode. It can also assist with add on aircraft that similarly appear grey but support in this case is more limited and has limitations when it comes to night lighting. Additionally it bundles all the DX10 fixes that have been published to the Avsim Library into a combined easy to install package. This includes the flashing runway fix, disappearing bridges fix, Virtual Cockpit shadow, performance improvements and more. Thanks to Laurent Billault for the tipoff!

Bill Womack is back!

FSX/P3D. Introducing iBlueYonder - a New Brand from a Flight Sim Veteran! If you've been around the FS world for a while, there's a chance you've heard of Bill Womack - and maybe even started a flight from one of his airport designs. For over ten years, he's been creating highly-detailed GA airports for Aerosoft, FS Addon, RealAir, and Orbx. Now, he's beginning a new career chapter with the launch of iBlueYonder. As a personal fan of Bill's work and amazing talent, mark my words: you will want to keep your eye on his new company!

Update from Airline2Sim!

[FS Utilities] Airline2Sim announces further details about revolutionary new Dash 8 Q400 training product. London-based simulator training provider Airline2Sim has today announced further details of its unique HD tutorial product for the Majestic Software Dash 8 Q400, taught by a real Dash 8 Q400 pilot. Have a look at the entite press statement here!
